Stansted Airport
Stansted Airport’s runway ends ½ mile away from the northern boundary of the Forest. On 22 December 1999, a Korea Air Lines Boeing 747, flight 8509 carrying cargo, crashed just to the west of the Forest. All four crew on board were killed.
