Guy Brunton

Guy Brunton OBE (1878 in London, England – 17 October 1948 in White River, Mpumalanga, South Africa ) was an English archaeologist and Egyptologist who discovered the Badarian culture. He married Winifred Newberry on 28 April 1906. Her father built Prynnsberg Estate.

A student of Sir Flinders Petrie, Brunton became Assistant Director of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo in 1931.

Famous quotes containing the word guy:

Andrews: Do you mind if I ask a question frankly? Do you love my daughter?
Peter: Any guy that’d fall in love with your daughter ought to have his head examined.
    Andrews: Now that’s an evasion.
Peter: She grabbed herself a perfect running mate. King Westley! The pill of the century. What she needs is a guy that’d take a sock at her once a day, whether it’s coming to her or not.
    Robert Riskin (1897–1955)
