The demographics of Greater Noida, mainly consists of students, corporate and labour class workers. Students are mainly temporary residents who come here from other parts of India and abroad for higher studies. This is due to large number of colleges in this region.

The majority of the original population of Greater Noida was composed of the Gurjars, the native people belonging to the local farmers and herders, however due to its development, the city has attracted a mixture of people from all over India. The Gurjar community retains its prominence due to the large amount of compensation which they received from the U.P. government, in lieu of their agricultural land for industrial development.

Gurjar community has a strong hold in the region, particularly in politics and business. This social dominance, combined with the fact that the youth of these communities are usually uneducated and unemployed, leads to a relatively higher crime rates in this region.Slowly the Gurjar stronghold has started fading in light of new development and migration from the neighboring areas.
