Cleanup Efforts
At the time of writing in October 2012, there is very little being done to mitigate the pollution. The bottles are made from plastic debris that washed up on Hawaiian beaches and recovered by Method employees and volunteers.
Method sent crews to Hawaii because detritus is constantly washed onto some of its beaches. “We want to create a conversation about recycling plastics,” Mr. Lowry of the "greens" department said. “The real objective is to make the point that we ought to work with the plastics already on the planet.”
