Famous quotes containing the word author:

I think of an author as somebody who goes into the marketplace and puts down his rug and says, “I will tell you a story,” and then he passes the hat.
    Robertson Davies (b. 1913)

    Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792–1822)

There exist few things more tedious than a discussion of general ideas inflicted by author or reader upon a work of fiction.
    Vladimir Nabokov (1899–1977)
