Gong Hyo-jin - Personal Life

Personal Life

Gong began dating actor Ryu Seung-beom after they grew close on the set of 2001's Wonderful Days; the two had in fact shared one class in elementary school before Gong transferred out. In a rare move for Korean celebrities, the young stars publicly admitted their relationship. The real-life couple again starred together in 2002 comedy Conduct Zero. They broke up in 2003, but remained friends. Gong asked Ryu to make a cameo appearance in her 2006 film Family Ties as her character's ex-boyfriend, lending a meta component to their scenes. The couple reunited in 2008, and both appeared in Dachimawa Lee (directed by Ryu's older brother Ryu Seung-wan), though they did not share any scenes. In 2010 Ryu made a cameo in Gong's TV series Pasta. Often topping surveys of favorite celeb couples, they shocked fans in 2012 by announcing that they had ended their relationship.

Famous quotes containing the words personal and/or life:

Healthy parenting is nothing if not a process of empowerment. As we help to raise our children’s self-esteem, we also increase their personal power. When we encourage them to be confident, self-reliant, self-directed, and responsible individuals, we are giving them power.
    Louise Hart (20th century)

The general review of the past tends to satisfy me with my political life. No man, I suppose, ever came up to his ideal. The first half [of] my political life was first to resist the increase of slavery and secondly to destroy it.... The second half of my political life has been to rebuild, and to get rid of the despotic and corrupting tendencies and the animosities of the war, and other legacies of slavery.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)
