In January 2008, Collins served four days in jail in Glendale, California, for his second DUI conviction. He pleaded no contest to driving a motor home drunk after his arrest January 31, 2009, in Santa Barbara County, California. He was sentenced to 120 days "home detention" according to a Santa Barbara County Sheriff's spokesperson. His blood alcohol content was measured at 0.29, more than three times the legal limit. In November 2010 Collins was charged with a misdemeanor for leaving the scene of an accident in Jackson, Mississippi. He was fined $500.
On January 5, 2011, Collins was charged with defrauding an innkeeper, a felony, in Harrison County, Mississippi, for allegedly failing to pay his bill at Jazzeppi's Restaurant, according to a statement released by the Biloxi Police Department. Collins claimed that the restaurant was taking an inexcusably long time to deliver his dinner, so he left Jazzeppi's, refusing to pay the charges accrued on his check. He paid a $500 fine two weeks later and did not appear in court.

Famous quotes containing the words legal and/or issues:
“In the course of the actual attainment of selfish endsan attainment conditioned in this way by universalitythere is formed a system of complete interdependence, wherein the livelihood, happiness, and legal status of one man is interwoven with the livelihood, happiness, and rights of all. On this system, individual happiness, etc. depend, and only in this connected system are they actualized and secured.”
—Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (17701831)
“To make life more bearable and pleasant for everybody, choose the issues that are significant enough to fight over, and ignore or use distraction for those you can let slide that day. Picking your battles will eliminate a number of conflicts, and yet will still leave you feeling in control.”
—Lawrence Balter (20th century)
