  • Clan Galbraith The Clan Galbraith Association (CGA) was formed in January, 1980 at the request of the Council of Scottish Clan Associations. Its goal is to rekindle the Galbraith Clan spirit and closeness among its members, to assist and encourage genealogical research pertaining to the Galbraith family, and to collect, collate and store Galbraith history and genealogical data so that it is readily available to its families and descendants. It also strives to further the preservation of its Scottish traditions, art, music, and culture.

Famous quotes containing the word links:

Nor stony tower, nor walls of beaten brass,
Nor airless dungeon, nor strong links of iron,
Can be retentive to the strength of spirit.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

All nationalisms are at heart deeply concerned with names: with the most immaterial and original human invention. Those who dismiss names as a detail have never been displaced; but the peoples on the peripheries are always being displaced. That is why they insist upon their continuity—their links with their dead and the unborn.
    John Berger (b. 1926)

The conclusion suggested by these arguments might be called the paradox of theorizing. It asserts that if the terms and the general principles of a scientific theory serve their purpose, i. e., if they establish the definite connections among observable phenomena, then they can be dispensed with since any chain of laws and interpretive statements establishing such a connection should then be replaceable by a law which directly links observational antecedents to observational consequents.
    —C.G. (Carl Gustav)
