Languages

  • Goidelic languages or Gaelic languages, a linguistic group that is one of the two branches of the Celtic languages; they include:
    • Irish language (Gaeilge)
    • Manx language (Gaelg or Gailck)
    • Scottish Gaelic (Gàidhlig).

When referring to Irish Gaelic or Manx Gaelic, it is usually pronounced /ˈɡeɪlɪk/. In Scotland, "Gaelic" is usually pronounced /ˈɡɑːlɪk/ or /ˈɡælɪk/; in Scots and Scottish English.
