Constituent Stations
The Fulton Center eventually will connect a total of six subway stations, providing a total of eleven services:
Services | Station | Line |
---|---|---|
Fulton Street | IRT Broadway – Seventh Avenue Line | |
Fulton Street | IRT Lexington Avenue Line | |
Fulton Street | IND Eighth Avenue Line | |
World Trade Center | IND Eighth Avenue Line | |
Fulton Street | BMT Nassau Street Line | |
Cortlandt Street | BMT Broadway Line |
Despite the presence of a passageway linking the Fulton Street station and the Cortlandt Street (BMT Broadway Line), there will be no free connection between the two stations. It is planned, however, that the Cortlandt Street (BMT Broadway Line) would have a free transfer planned to connect to the World Trade Center E Station instead. According to the MTA's Final Environmental Impact Statement, the proposed alternative features a passageway lying under Dey Street, out of the paid area. The rationale is to provide a seamless connection from the Fulton Center to the WTC Transportation Hub and the World Financial Center without the need to cross Church Street and Broadway, both of which are busy traffic arteries in Lower Manhattan. By keeping it outside of the paid area, it would maximize pedestrian flow.

Famous quotes containing the word stations:
“I cant quite define my aversion to asking questions of strangers. From snatches of family battles which I have heard drifting up from railway stations and street corners, I gather that there are a great many men who share my dislike for it, as well as an equal number of women who ... believe it to be the solution to most of this worlds problems.”
—Robert Benchley (18891945)
