Marching Band
The FHS Band have made appearances in the Orange Bowl Parade, The Tournament of Roses Parade, The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, The St. Louis St. Patrick's Day Parade, The Hollywood Christmas Parade, and The Tangerine Bowl. The band also appeared in the Academy Award winning movie "Nashville" as well as a Madonna music video. The Band has consistently been a finalist at Middle Tennessee State University's Contest of Champions and won the Governor's Cup proclaiming them the Tennessee State Marching Band Champion in both 1980 and 1981. In 2010, The Band was Reserve Grand Champion (2nd Place) at the Contest of Champions, their highest placement since their championship victory in 1981. More recent awards that the band has won include class AAA champion at Bands of America in Jacksonville, AL and placed 3rd overall. On October 13, 2012 they were the overall champions at Bands of America in Jacksonville, AL. On October 21, 2012 the band was named Grand Champion at the Contest of Champions, their highest placement ever. The band is currently under the direction of David Aydelott.
