Formula 3 Euro Series

The Formula 3 Euro Series was a European-based junior single seater formula for Formula Three chassis that was launched (in its current form) in 2003 as a merger of the French Formula Three Championship and German Formula Three Championship. The Formula Three category, including this championship, is part of the established career ladder up which European drivers progress to the Formula One world championship, the highest form of single seater racing defined by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), motorsport's world governing body. Lewis Hamilton, 2008 Formula One champion with the McLaren team, won the Euro Series drivers' title in 2005. The 2006 champion Paul di Resta drive in Formula One along with other notable former Euro F3 drivers, including Adrian Sutil and Nico Rosberg. In 2012, the FIA announced that the series would be discontinued and incorporated into the FIA European Formula Three Championship in 2013.

Famous quotes containing the words formula and/or series:

The formula for achieving a successful relationship is simple: you should treat all disasters as if they were trivialities but never treat a triviality as if it were a disaster.
    Quentin Crisp (b. 1908)

Depression moods lead, almost invariably, to accidents. But, when they occur, our mood changes again, since the accident shows we can draw the world in our wake, and that we still retain some degree of power even when our spirits are low. A series of accidents creates a positively light-hearted state, out of consideration for this strange power.
    Jean Baudrillard (b. 1929)
