Foothills Regional Airport - Facilities and Aircraft

Facilities and Aircraft

The Foothills Regional Airport covers an area of 1,170 acres (473 ha) and contains one grooved asphalt paved runway: 3/21 measuring 5,500 ft × 75 ft (1,676 m × 23 m). For the 12-month period ending August 31, 2005, the airport had 17,000 aircraft operations, an average of 46 per day: 97% general aviation and 3% military. There were 73 aircraft based on the field at that time.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration's 2012 report "General Aviation Airports: A National Asset", Foothills Regional Airport has been reclassified as a "Local" airport instead of a "Regional" airport, based on, in part, significant declines in based aircraft, aircraft operations, categories of aircraft based on the field, and the relative importance of the airport as part of the area transportation infrastructure.

Famous quotes containing the word facilities:

I have always found that when men have exhausted their own resources, they fall back on “the intentions of the Creator.” But their platitudes have ceased to have any influence with those women who believe they have the same facilities for communication with the Divine mind as men have.
    Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815–1902)
