FIS Ski Jumping Continental Cup

The FIS Ski Jumping Continental Cup is a series of ski jumping competitions arranged yearly by the International Ski Federation (FIS). It is considered the second level of international ski jumping, below the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup. Athletes competing in the Continental Cup are usually juniors and jumpers fighting for a spot on their nation's World Cup team. Some jumpers alternate between the World Cup and the Continental Cup, and therefore, the winner of the Continental Cup is not necessarily the best jumper.

Famous quotes containing the words ski, jumping and/or cup:

The goal for all blind skiers is more freedom. You don’t have to see where you’re going, as long as you go. In skiing, you ski with your legs and not with your eyes. In life, you experience things with your mind and your body. And if you’re lacking one of the five senses, you adapt.
Lorita Bertraun, Blind American skier. As quoted in WomenSports magazine, p. 29 (January 1976)

    Unwind, hands,
    you angel webs,
unwind like the coil of a jumping jack,
cup together and let yourselves fill up with sun
    and applaud, world,
    applaud.
    Anne Sexton (1928–1974)

It is surely easier to confess a murder over a cup of coffee than in front of a jury.
    Friedrich Dürrenmatt (1921–1990)
