Initially, the album entered the albums charts in the overseas. On February 2, 1992 the set debuted in England at number ten (its peak), being present in the UK chart nineteen weeks in total. On February 15, Thought 'Ya Knew appeared for the first time in Canada (at number sixty), as well as on the U.S. Billboard 200 (at number ninety-nine). In both countries, the album reached the high position(s) in its fourth week(s). At number twenty in Canada (twenty-two weeks in the chart), while at number seventy in the States (being present there for thirty-six weeks, of which eighteen within the Top 100). In the Netherlands, the album began its twelve week run on February 22 at number ninety, scoring at last at number thirty-one in the Dutch MegaCharts. Followed in the USA by the Billboard's component chart, the album debuted in the R&B/Hip-Hop on March 7 at number eighty-eight, and climbed to number thirteen on August 8 (fifty-two weeks in the chart). In addition, the album charted for two weeks also in Austria, topping there at number thirty-eight (its debut as well) on March 8.
