Finally (Ce Ce Peniston Album)

Finally is the debut album by American singer CeCe Peniston, released on January 28, 1992 by A&M Records. Prior to that, she recorded her debut single "Finally", which topped the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Music Club Play chart on October 26, 1991, peaking eventually at number five on the Billboard Hot 100, while at number two in the United Kingdom. The album yielded two additional singles that achieved dance number one status in the States. "We Got a Love Thang", co-written by Chantay Savage, and "Keep On Walkin'" that was for a change written in collaboration with Kym Sims. Both songs entered the Top Ten in England, respectively Top Twenty of the official singles chart in the USA. Although, the album itself climbed only to number seventy on the U.S. Billboard 200, during its thirty-six weeks long presence in the chart it sold over 554,000 copies in the States, peaking on the UK Albums Chart at number ten. The total worldwide sale of the set surpassed 3,000,000 units. The rest two compositions taken from the album gained attention on single mostly in the R&B field. "Inside That I Cried" charted at number ten in the U.S. R&B and at number forty-two in England, while "Crazy Love" at number thirty-one in the States, and/or at number forty-four in the overseas. The album received in general from mixed to positive reviews from music critics.

Famous quotes containing the word finally:

The chief reason warfare is still with us is neither a secret death-wish of the human species, nor an irrepressible instinct of aggression, nor, finally and more plausibly, the serious economic and social dangers inherent in disarmament, but the simple fact that no substitute for this final arbiter in international affairs has yet appeared on the political scene.
    Hannah Arendt (1906–1975)
