Farm To Market Road 511

Farm to Market Road 511 or FM 511 is a road that runs from Farm to Market Road 3248 on the northeast side of Brownsville southeast and southward to the southern sections of Brownsville. The highway forms an outer loop/bypass of the main portion of Brownsville. This highway is known locally and is signed as the Senator Eddie Lucio Jr. Highway. The highway formerly extended northeast to US Routes 77 and 83 at Olmito, but this portion was expanded starting in 2008 and was transferred to State Highway 550. The section from Farm to Market 3248 south to State Highway 48 was a part of this expansion, becoming a four lane highway with center turning lane. This project began in January 2008 and was completed late in 2010.

Famous quotes containing the words farm to, farm, market and/or road:

Wind goes from farm to farm in wave on wave,
But carries no cry of what is hoped to be.
There may be little or much beyond the grave,
But the strong are saying nothing until they see.
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)

On the farm I had learned how to meet realities without suffering either mentally or physically. My initiative had never been blunted. I had freedom to succeed—freedom to fail. Life on the farm produces a kind of toughness.
    Bertha Van Hoosen (1863–1952)

the old palaces, the wallets of the tourists,
the Common Market or the smart cafés,
the boulevards in the graceful evening,
    the cliff-hangers, the scientists,
and the little shops raising their prices
    mean nothing to me.
    Anne Sexton (1928–1974)

What blazed ahead of you? A faked road block?
The red lamp swung, the sudden brakes and stalling
Engine, voices, heads hooded and the cold-nosed gun?
    Seamus Heaney (b. 1939)
