Farm Museum

A farm museum is a museum based on a historical farm and its buildings, presenting agricultural history. Often the farm is still a working farm, for demonstration and educational purposes.

See List of open air and living history museums in the United States for a list of such farms in the U.S., or Open air museum for farms in other countries.

Famous quotes containing the words farm and/or museum:

In common with other rural regions much of the Iowa farm lore concerns the coming of company. When the rooster crows in the doorway, or the cat licks his fur, company is on the way.
—For the State of Iowa, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

The Museum is not meant either for the wanderer to see by accident or for the pilgrim to see with awe. It is meant for the mere slave of a routine of self-education to stuff himself with every sort of incongruous intellectual food in one indigestible meal.
    Gilbert Keith Chesterton (1874–1936)
