In the comic book series, it was said that Zick was allergic to vanilla icing, among others. Zick is left-handed in the comics and the animated series. He loves his parents and admires his father. He likes eating red-currant jelly sandwiches. He loves Timothy, his hairless 'cat'. When he was kidnapped in issue 3, Zick was deeply upset because he did not manage to apologize to him. Timothy is a dear friend to him, and he protects him. Bombo is also another one of his close friends in the series, despite the fact that Bombo always steals and eats his shoes. Zick's grandparents, Ezeria and Maria made an appearance when Zick's father was in search of them. Zick found his grandfather's Tamer's cellar and Hector Sinistro's Dombox which is in a pattern of a merry-go-round.
