Bridge Expansion Joints
Bridge Expansion Joints, as shown in the photo, are designed to allow for continuous traffic between structures accommodating movement, shrinkage, temperature variations on reinforced and prestressed concrete, composite and steel structures. Bridge expansion joints also allow enough vertical movement to allow bearing replacement without the need to dismantle the bridge expansion joint. There are various types of Bridge Expansion Joints that can accommodate movement from between 30 to 1000 mm these include small movement expansion joints (XJS, JEP, WR, WOSd, and AC-AR), medium movement expansion joints (Etic EJ, Wd) and large movement expansion joints (WP, Etic EJF/SFEJ).
