Ent Air Force Base - Ent Annex

After "12.28 acres" had been planned for closure in fiscal year 1974, Ent Annex was to be vacated to Peterson AFB by June 30, 1976. On July 1, 1975, "Headquarters ADCOM" transferred to the Chidlaw Building and on October 1, 1976, the Fourteenth Aerospace Force deactivated at Ent. Ent's off-base barracks (38°51′07″N 104°45′17″W / 38.8520°N 104.7546°W / 38.8520; -104.7546 (Barracks, Ent AFB)) at 3920 Marion St (now E San Miguel St) were modified in the late 1970s for a retirement community, and Ent's Federal Building remained a military facility until Peterson AFB building 2 opened c. 1990 (Ent Gun Club also moved to Peterson.) Ent land totalling 35 acres (14 ha) was transferred in 1977 for the United States Olympic Training Center, and a Memorial Hospital facility is now at the former Ent site.

Famous quotes containing the word annex:

The young women, what can they not learn, what can they not achieve, with Columbia University annex thrown open to them? In this great outlook for women’s broader intellectual development I see the great sunburst of the future.
    M. E. W. Sherwood (1826–1903)
