In contrast to the population of Egypt, where Muslims constitute approximately 90% of the population, the majority of Egyptian Americans are Coptic Christians, with Muslims forming a minority in the community (needs citation for this "fact"). There also exists a small Jewish communities. There is an archdiocese in Jersey City, New Jersey, where, one of the first American Coptic churches founded in the early 1960s.
