Edvard Kocbek

Edvard Kocbek ( pronunciation) (27 September 1904 – 3 November 1981) was a Slovenian poet, writer, essayist, translator, political activist, and resistance fighter. He is considered as one of the best authors who have written in Slovene, and one of the best Slovene poets after Prešeren. His political role during and after World War II made him one of the most controversial figures in Slovenia in the 20th century.
