East Mecklenburg High (or simply East Meck or East) touts one of the most diverse student bodies in Charlotte. In 2007, the school of 2,500 students reported the following racial breakdown to CMS: 45.6% African-American, 23.6% White, 23.81% Hispanic, 5.0% Asian, 1.7% Multi-racial, and 0.2% American Indian.
