Controversy
The format is largely inspired by the LC Concept developed in France in the late 1980s by Elisabeth Lochen and Pascal Chédeville (hence the name of LC). LC Concept alleged that the DTS patents were similar to those of LC and had been filed 18 months later. Elisabeth Lochen and Pascal Chédeville later sold their patents to them.
