Famous quotes containing the word dos:

It was so long since I’d seen masses of young men that I’d forgotten how much pleasanter men of between twenty and thirty were to be around with than older men. It isnt so true of women. When I was in my twenties I thought the grown adults I ran into were a disaster and now I know I was right.
    —John Dos Passos (1896–1970)

Remember that it’s never a crime in the face of humanity and enlightenment to distribute the works of the great humanists among the merchants and moneychangers of this godforsaken country... You better slip me the dough.
    —John Dos Passos (1896–1970)

The only way to find out anything about what kinds of lives people led in any given period is to tunnel into their records and to let them speak for themselves.
    —John Dos Passos (1896–1970)
