Dortmund Airport (IATA: DTM, ICAO: EDLW), is the international airport located 10 km (6.2 mi) east of Dortmund, Germany. Its slogan is Näher als man denkt (Closer than you think). Since 2006 it has been carrying the name "Dortmund Airport 21", in reference to the fact that Dortmund's utility company, DSW21, is its major shareholder. The airport has a maximum capacity of around 2.5 million passengers and served approximately 2.3 million passengers in 2008.
Famous quotes containing the word airport:
“Airplanes are invariably scheduled to depart at such times as 7:54, 9:21 or 11:37. This extreme specificity has the effect on the novice of instilling in him the twin beliefs that he will be arriving at 10:08, 1:43 or 4:22, and that he should get to the airport on time. These beliefs are not only erroneous but actually unhealthy.”
