As long as our civilization is essentially one of property, of fences, of exclusiveness, it will be mocked by delusions. Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Everywhere I am hindered of meeting God in my brother, because he has shut his own temple doors and recites fables merely of his brother’s, or his brother’s brother’s God.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Then he made a fist: “But now, is it strong enough, big enough, solid enough? It seems so doesn’t it?”
    Jacques Roumain (1907–1945)
