Dongshan Liangjie (807-869) (Chinese: 洞山良价; Wade–Giles: Tung-shan Liang-chieh; Japanese: Tōzan Ryōkai; Korean: Tongsan Lianggye; Vietnamese: Động Sơn Lương Giới) was a Zen Buddhist monk of 9th century China. He founded the Caodong/Sōtō school (曹洞宗) of Zen. He is well known for the poetic Verses of the Five Ranks.
