Purpose and Vision
The Diana Award endeavors to appreciate and celebrate the work which young people make to society - especially those who are young ambassadors, young leaders, young humanitarians, fund raisers, environmental campaigners, peer mentors, sports leaders, and those who inspire others as Diana, Princess of Wales, did.
The vision is to promote a culture that celebrates young people from all sections of society who have made a selfless contribution to society.

Famous quotes containing the words purpose and, purpose and/or vision:
“I think the worst thing this nation could do for humanity would be to leave any uncertainty as to our will, our purpose and our capacity to carry out our purpose.”

“Man, her last work, who seemed so fair,
Such splendid purpose in his eyes,
Who rolled the psalm to wintry skies,
Who built him fanes of fruitless prayer,
Who trusted God was love indeed
And love Creations final law
Though Nature, red in tooth and claw
With ravine, shrieked against his creed”
—Alfred Tennyson (18091892)
“Our star was brighter perhaps when it had water in it.
Now there is no question even of that, but only
Of holding on to the hard earth so as not to get thrown off,
With an occasional dream, a vision ...”
—John Ashbery (b. 1927)
