SKI magazine's reader resort survey ranked Deer Valley first overall for five consecutive years between 2007 and 2011. In the history of the survey, it has been the only resort to achieve this (no other resort has been ranked first for more than three consecutive years). After a bad snow year, Deer Valley slipped to second overall in 2012 behind Whistler. In the 2012 survey, the resort received first place ratings in the categories of grooming, service, on-mountain food, lodging, dining, and family programs. In addition, Deer Valley was rated in the top 10 in the categories of snow (10), lifts (3), weather (2), access (2), apres-ski (7), digital performance (5), and overall satisfaction (5).
Deer Valley's Mariposa at Silver Lake has been rated the #1 restaurant in Utah by the Zagat Restaurant Guide.
