Creating Content in DITA

DITA map and topic documents are XML files. As with HTML, any images, video files, or other files that must appear in output are inserted via reference. Any XML editor or even text editor can be used to write DITA content, depending on the level of support required while authoring. Aids to authoring included in specialized editors includes WYSIWYG preview rendering, validation, and integration with the DITA-OT. Third-party tools that support authoring, include FrameMaker, XMetaL, and Arbortext, which are supported by several content management systems. Author-it is an integrated CMS and authoring environment. DITA is also supported by Oxygen XML Editor, easyDITA, Syntext Serna, and SDL Xopus.

Famous quotes containing the words creating and/or content:

No one is ahead of his time, it is only that the particular variety of creating his time is the one that his contemporaries who are also creating their own time refuse to accept.... For a very long time everybody refuses and then almost without a pause almost everybody accepts. In the history of the refused in the arts and literature the rapidity of the change is always startling.
    Gertrude Stein (1874–1946)

It is still not enough for language to have clarity and content ... it must also have a goal and an imperative. Otherwise from language we descend to chatter, from chatter to babble and from babble to confusion.
    René Daumal (1908–1944)
