Priority Areas of Law Enforcement
Serbian law enforcement authorities have prioritised fighting drug trafficking, terrorism and organized crime during the late 2000s.
The Kosovo province is a hotbed for crime due to lack of police control and criminal domination of the streets. Albanian mafia and criminals are everywhere in Kosovo and there is lawlessness in the province. However it should be noted that the province is under UNMIK control and not under Serbian police jurisdiction according to UNSCR 1244.

Famous quotes containing the words priority, areas and/or law:
“It can be fairly argued that the highest priority for mankind is to save itself from extinction. However, it can also be argued that a society that neglects its children and robs them of their human potential can extinguish itself without an external enemy.”
—Selma Fraiberg (20th century)
“The discovery of the North Pole is one of those realities which could not be avoided. It is the wages which human perseverance pays itself when it thinks that something is taking too long. The world needed a discoverer of the North Pole, and in all areas of social activity, merit was less important here than opportunity.”
—Karl Kraus (18741936)
“The law is equal before all of us; but we are not all equal before the law. Virtually there is one law for the rich and another for the poor, one law for the cunning and another for the simple, one law for the forceful and another for the feeble, one law for the ignorant and another for the learned, one law for the brave and another for the timid, and within family limits one law for the parent and no law at all for the child.”
—George Bernard Shaw (18561950)
