  • Economic development
  • Education and training
  • Environment
  • Fire and rescue services and promotion of fire safety
  • Food
  • Heath and health services
  • Highways and transport
  • Housing
  • Local government
  • Public administration
  • National Assembly for Wales
  • Social welfare
  • Sport and recreation
  • Tourism
  • Town and country planning
  • Water and flood defence
  • Welsh language

The Assembly can also legislate in areas that affect only the Assembly itself, which is why the National Assembly for Wales field is added.

Famous quotes containing the words areas and/or devolved:

... two great areas of deafness existed in the South: White Southerners had no ears to hear that which threatened their Dream. And colored Southerners had none to hear that which could reduce their anger.
Sarah Patton Boyle, U.S. civil rights activist and author. The Desegregated Heart, part 1, ch. 16 (1962)

On the death of a friend, we should consider that the fates through confidence have devolved on us the task of a double living, that we have henceforth to fulfill the promise of our friend’s life also, in our own, to the world.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
