Continuing Professional Education
Many consulting actuaries attend continuing professional education meetings sponsored or co-sponsored by the Conference. Its three major annual meetings are the Enrolled Actuaries Meeting, co-sponsored with the American Academy of Actuaries; the Employee Benefits Spring Meeting, jointly sponsored with the Society of Actuaries; and the Conference's Annual Meeting.
In addition to those meetings, the CCA also sponsors or co-sponsors a variety of seminars and teleconferences. In contrast to its annual meetings, which offer sessions on variety of subjects, the Conference's seminars and teleconferences generally are limited to a single topic of current interest.

Famous quotes containing the words continuing, professional and/or education:
“If the oarsmen of a fast-moving ship suddenly cease to row, the suspension of the driving force of the oars doesnt prevent the vessel from continuing to move on its course. And with a speech it is much the same. After he has finished reciting the document, the speaker will still be able to maintain the same tone without a break, borrowing its momentum and impulse from the passage he has just read out.”
—Marcus Tullius Cicero (10643 B.C)
“The American character looks always as if it had just had a rather bad haircut, which gives it, in our eyes at any rate, a greater humanity than the European, which even among its beggars has an all too professional air.”
—Mary McCarthy (19121989)
“A woman might claim to retain some of the childs faculties, although very limited and defused, simply because she has not been encouraged to learn methods of thought and develop a disciplined mind. As long as education remains largely induction ignorance will retain these advantages over learning and it is time that women impudently put them to work.”
—Germaine Greer (b. 1939)
