Recognition
McCorkell was named an Ashoka Fellow, a recognition for social entrepreneurship, in 2006. The organization has been recognized with awards from the Financial Times and Citi, the National Association for College Admission Counseling, College Board, and the National College Access Network.
In June 2009, President Barack Obama mentioned the organization in a speech on social entrepreneurship saying: "Admission Possible operates in just two states now. So imagine if it were 10 or 20 or 50."

Famous quotes containing the word recognition:
“Admiration. Our polite recognition of anothers resemblance to ourselves.”
—Ambrose Bierce (18421914)
“That the world can be improved and yet must be celebrated as it is are contradictions. The beginning of maturity may be the recognition that both are true.”
—William Stott (b. 1940)
“By now, legions of tireless essayists and op-ed columnists have dressed feminists down for making such a fuss about entering the professions and earning equal pay that everyones attention has been distracted from the important contributions of mothers working at home. This judgment presumes, of course, that prior to the resurgence of feminism in the 70s, housewives and mothers enjoyed wide recognition and honor. This was not exactly the case.”
—Mary Kay Blakely (20th century)
