The examination is conducted in two phases - the Preliminary examination, consisting of two objective-type papers (General Studies and Aptitude Test), and the Main examination, consisting of nine papers of conventional (essay) type followed by the Personality Test (Interview). The entire process from the notification of the Preliminary examination to declaration of the final results takes roughly one and a half year.

Famous quotes containing the words civil, services and/or examination:

Luxury, or a refinement on the pleasures and conveniences of life, had long been supposed the source of every corruption in government, and the immediate cause of faction, sedition, civil wars, and the total loss of liberty. It was, therefore, universally regarded as a vice, and was an object of declamation to all satyrists, and severe moralists.
    David Hume (1711–1776)

    It seems I impregnated Marge
So I do rather feel, by and large,
    Some cash should be tendered
    For services rendered,
But I can’t quite decide what to charge.
    Anonymous.

    Samuel Butler (1835–1902)
