The station is near some of Manila's major landmarks, such as the Manila City Hall, Manila Central Post Office, the National Museum of the Philippines and Manila Metropolitan Theater. The Walled City of Intramuros is also within short walking distance from the station, and so are a few government offices like the Department of Labor and Employment and Bureau of Immigration; and public parks like Mehan Garden, Liwasang Bonifacio and Arroceros Forest Park. Due to its location in Manila's University Belt, the station is near educational institutions such as Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Philippine Normal University, Mapúa Institute of Technology, Lyceum of the Philippines University, and the city-owned Universidad de Manila and Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila. All those institutions, except the Philippine Normal University and Universidad de Manila, lie within the walls of Intramuros.
