Carsten Anker - Time Abroad

Time Abroad

As an envoy of det dansk-asiatiske Kompagni, he stayed in London from January 1805 to take care of the company's business affairs vis-à-vis the English East India Company. In 1811 he took up permanent residence at Eidsvoll Ironworks.

Famous quotes containing the word time:

A house means a family house, a place specially meant for putting children and men in so as to restrict their waywardness and distract them from the longing for adventure and escape they’ve had since time began.
    Marguerite Duras (b. 1914)

These sudden ends of time must give us pause.
We fray into the future, rarely wrought
Save in the tapestries of afterthought.
    More time, more time.
    Richard Wilbur (b. 1921)
