Caroline Kennedy-Mc Cracken
Caroline Frances Kennedy-McCracken (born Caroline Frances Kennedy in 1967) is an Australian musician and visual artist. As a musician, Kennedy-McCracken has been a singer-songwriter and guitarist in several bands, including indie band The Plums (1992–1995), pop-rock band Deadstar (1995–2001) and country-tinged duo The Tulips (2002–2006). Deadstar's 2000 single, "Deeper Water", which peaked at No. 28 on the ARIA Singles Chart, was co-written by Kennedy-McCracken and Barry Palmer. At the annual ARIA Music Awards Deadstar was nominated three times; an additional nomination occurred in 2005 for "Been Good" as 'Best Dance Release' – co-written by Kennedy-McCracken and Palmer – which was covered by Deepface. As a visual artist she is a painter and sculptor. She incorporates a range of methods, including drawing, painting, installation, collage, recording, performance, and sculpture using found objects. As of 2005, she is married to fellow musician Pete McCracken and the couple have two children.
