The Carniolan honey bee (Apis mellifera carnica Pollmann) is a subspecies of the western honey bee. The Carniolan honey bee is native to Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, southern Austria, and parts of Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria.
