Naming A Camera Setup
During production and post-production, it is necessary to give a unique alphanumeric identity to each camera angle, labeled as "scenes." For example: "Scene 24C." Camera angle letters are often pronounced on the set using either the NATO phonetic alphabet or the older police-style radio alphabet. For example: "Scene 24C" would be pronounced as "Scene 24, Charlie." Some letters are skipped because they look like letters or numbers when written (for example an "S" can look like a "5").

Famous quotes containing the words naming and/or camera:
“Husband,
who am I to reject the naming of foods
in a time of famine?”
—Anne Sexton (19281974)
“The camera has an interest in turning history into spectacle, but none in reversing the process. At best, the picture leaves a vague blur in the observers mind; strong enough to send him into battle perhaps, but not to have him understand why he is going.”
—Denis Donoghue (b. 1928)
