U'19 Eastern Counties Cup 2008
The team failed to qualify from the pool, largely in part to the heavy loss to Bury St Edmunds with a weakened side. Hopes of making up some of the points difference against Norwich were dashed when they withdrew. North Walsham did the same but were forced to play the fixture after an appeal of unsporting behaviour. The fixture was reversed to West Renault Park, Cambridge where Cambridge ran out 20–18 winners, which was not enough to make up the points difference. Rethinking of the walkover score will be considered for next season after it was changed from 35–0 to 15–0.

Famous quotes containing the words eastern and/or cup:
“I need not tell you of the inadequacy of the American shipping marine on the Pacific Coast.... For this reason it seems to me that there is no subject to which Congress can better devote its attention in the coming session than the passage of a bill which shall encourage our merchant marine in such a way as to establish American lines directly between New York and the eastern ports and South American ports, and both our Pacific Coast ports and the Orient and the Philippines.”
—William Howard Taft (18571930)
“Sisters define their rivalry in terms of competition for the gold cup of parental love. It is never perceived as a cup which runneth over, rather a finite vessel from which the more one sister drinks, the less is left for the others.”
—Elizabeth Fishel (20th century)
