Bunkot is a village development committee in Gorkha District in the Gandaki Zone of northern-central Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 6,599, and there were 1,214 houses in the town.

Martyr Thapa Magr was hanged to death in 1877 by the erstwhile Aristocratic Ruling family, the Ranas, for raising voice against the autocracy.
