Famous quotes containing the words photographs, paintings and/or venus:

The charm, one might say the genius of memory, is that it is choosy, chancy, and temperamental: it rejects the edifying cathedral and indelibly photographs the small boy outside, chewing a hunk of melon in the dust.
    Elizabeth Bowen (1899–1973)

It is not your paintings I like, it is your painting.
    Albert Camus (1913–1960)

It is no longer a flame hidden in my veins; now it is Venus in all her might fastened to her prey.
    Jean Racine (1639–1699)
