Bremangerlandet

Bremangerlandet is an island in the municipality of Bremanger in the traditional district of Nordfjord in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. The 153-square-kilometre (59 sq mi) island is the largest island in the county. The highest point on the island is the mountain Svartevassegga at 889 metres (2,917 ft), however the cliff at Hornelen, located 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) to the east, is more well-known and has an elevation of 860 metres (2,820 ft). The 4-kilometre (2.5 mi) long lake Dalevatnet is located in the central part of the island.

The island is located east of the island of Frøya and just south of the Nordfjord and the municipality of Vågsøy. The Bremanger Church is located in the Bremanger village area, the main population center of the island (2009 population: 389). The village of Berle is located on the east side of the island, and it is home to the Berle Church.

The island is connected to the island of Frøya by a series of bridges and to the island of Rugsundøya by the Skatestraum Tunnel (Rugsundøya connects to the mainland via a bridge).
