Winnings Limit
During the first few months, couples stayed on the show until they won $75,000 or until they were defeated, with anything over $75,000 donated to a charity of the couple's choice (this rule is shown in this video at 9:59). Later, when the main game format changed, any team who broke the bank retired undefeated.
