Famous quotes containing the words brandon, school and/or division:
“They can kill us, but they can’t eat us. That’s against the law!”
—Gil Doud, U.S. screenwriter, and Jesse Hibbs. Brandon (Charles Drake)
“Dissonance between family and school, therefore, is not only inevitable in a changing society; it also helps to make children more malleable and responsive to a changing world. By the same token, one could say that absolute homogeneity between family and school would reflect a static, authoritarian society and discourage creative, adaptive development in children.”
—Sara Lawrence Lightfoot (20th century)
“Between married persons, the cement of friendship is by the laws supposed so strong as to abolish all division of possessions: and has often, in reality, the force ascribed to it.
”
—David Hume (1711–1776)
