Boy Meets World - Sequel Series

Sequel Series

In November 2012 it was reported that Disney Channel is in the early stages of development of a follow-up series titled Girl Meets World, which will center around Cory and Topanga's 13-year-old daughter. Boy Meets World co-creator Michael Jacobs will develop the series and serve as its executive producer and showrunner. It is yet unknown if any of the original actors will return if the series gets a pilot order or is greenlit as a series, although Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel are in talks to reprise their characters.

The pilot is expected to be taped in February 2013, with auditions to be held starting in mid-November 2012 for the lead roles of Riley Matthews, the daughter of Cory and Topanga, Maya, a witty friend of Riley's who has a troubled past and Elliot, Riley's older brother. The character of Cory Matthews is also reported to be a seventh-grade history teacher who looks after Riley and Maya in the series.

Famous quotes containing the words sequel and/or series:

Though the Jazz Age continued it became less and less an affair of youth. The sequel was like a children’s party taken over by the elders.
    F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896–1940)

The woman’s world ... is shown as a series of limited spaces, with the woman struggling to get free of them. The struggle is what the film is about; what is struggled against is the limited space itself. Consequently, to make its point, the film has to deny itself and suggest it was the struggle that was wrong, not the space.
    Jeanine Basinger (b. 1936)
