The Birmingham Senior Cup is a football competition for Birmingham County FA club teams, organized by the Birmingham County Football Association. It began in 1875 with Tipton taking the first honours in the final in 1876 and is one of the oldest county football competitions still active.
The Birmingham Senior Cup is a local cup contest, which has featured all of the West Midlands' big clubs, Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Coventry City, Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion, Walsall and Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, in recent years most of the bigger clubs have tended to treat the cup as a "reserve" or "youth team" competition, giving the non-league sides a greater chance of success, while the area (and the competition)'s most successful team, Aston Villa, have not competed at all for several years.
The current champions are West Bromwich Albion, who beat Solihull Moors 2–0.

Famous quotes containing the words senior and/or cup:
“Adolescents have the right to be themselves. The fact that you were the belle of the ball, the captain of the lacrosse team, the president of your senior class, Phi Beta Kappa, or a political activist doesnt mean that your teenager will be or should be the same....Likewise, the fact that you were a wallflower, uncoordinated, and a C student shouldnt mean that you push your child to be everything you were not.”
—Laurence Steinberg (20th century)
“There is not enough exercise in this way of life. I try to make up by active gymnastics before I dress when I get up, by walking rapidly in the lower hall and the greenhouse after each meal for perhaps five to ten minutes, and a good hand rubbing before going to bed. I eat moderately; drink one cup of coffee at breakfast and one cup of tea at lunch and no other stimulant. My health is now, and usually, excellent.”
—Rutherford Birchard Hayes (18221893)
